What is Caipi Counter?
Caipi Counter is a mobile-first shared drink diary for holidays and events. It records alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks by participant, with offline entries, reports, optional games and event recaps.
Does Caipi Counter only track caipirinhas?
No. Caipirinha is one choice in a catalog that also includes cocktails, beer, cider, wine, sparkling wine, spirits, shots and non-alcoholic drinks. You can also name a custom drink.
Can I count water and coffee without adding to the alcohol total?
Yes. Recognized non-alcoholic entries stay in your diary and reports while the main alcoholic counter remains unchanged.
Is one recorded drink a standard alcohol unit?
No. Each entry records a drink, without measuring serving size or strength. Caipi Counter does not calculate blood alcohol or determine whether someone can drive.
Can I add someone who does not want an account?
Yes. With their permission, a host can add them as a named participant and record drinks for them. They need an account and host approval to join on their own phone.
Does sending an invitation make my event public?
No. Recipients must sign in and receive host approval. Public event pages and shared recap links are separate options that the host chooses to enable.
Can a friend join their existing drink history?
Yes. When reviewing the join request, the host can explicitly connect the account to a participant already in the event. A matching name alone does not connect the account.
Can I start using Caipi Counter for the first time offline?
No. Create your account, open the shared event online and wait for “Offline ready” first. The phone needs the loaded event and cached app resources.
Will friends see my drinks while my phone is offline?
Not until those changes synchronize. Your phone shows its local entries, while other devices receive them after it reconnects successfully.
What should I check before clearing browser data?
Reconnect, wait for pending changes to clear and confirm the indicator shows Synced. Unsynchronized entries are stored in the browser on that device.
Why does the main counter differ from a report total?
The main counter counts alcoholic entries. Some reports include all beverages, including water, coffee and other non-alcoholic drinks. Check the view’s labels and filters.
Does the daily timeline reset at my phone’s midnight?
It resets at midnight in the event’s configured time zone. That keeps the occasion’s calendar days consistent when participants are in different places.
Does the timeline measure alcohol strength or intoxication?
No. It plots alcoholic drink entries. The app does not measure serving size, alcohol strength or impairment, and mood check-ins are chosen by participants.
